Who is nConnect?

nConnect is a non-profit organization with a mission to challenge high school students to succeed in rigorous academic subjects and prepare them to become future leaders and innovators. We increase student interest and achievement in STEM by connecting schools to business — matching science and engineering professionals with AP science and math classes at area high schools.

Participating school districts include Evergreen, Vancouver, Camas, La Center, Kelso, and Longview. Whether you're a professional looking to volunteer, a teacher seeking classroom support, or a business wanting to shape tomorrow's workforce, we welcome your inquiry.

nConnect works to challenge high school students by connecting them with professionals who bring real-world experience directly into the classroom. This approach helps students see the practical applications of their studies and encourages them to take on more rigorous academic subjects. By fostering these connections, the organization aims to build a pipeline of future leaders and innovators who are prepared to contribute to the global economy. The focus on STEM fields is intentional, as these areas offer growing opportunities for meaningful careers. Through mentoring and direct engagement with professionals, students gain confidence and a clearer sense of what their own futures can hold.

The partnership between schools and local businesses is at the heart of what nConnect does. Science and engineering professionals volunteer their time to work alongside teachers, helping to bring advanced coursework to life for students. This collaboration benefits everyone involved: students receive guidance and inspiration, teachers gain valuable support in the classroom, and businesses help shape a skilled workforce for tomorrow. The program serves multiple school districts, creating a broad network of support across the region. By investing in students today, the community is building a stronger foundation for economic growth and innovation in the years ahead.

Volunteers and mentors play a vital role in the success of this mission. Professionals from STEM fields have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with students who are eager to learn and explore new ideas. This engagement not only helps students succeed academically but also introduces them to career paths they may not have considered. The impact extends beyond individual classrooms, as students who participate often go on to pursue further education and leadership roles in their communities. For those looking to make a difference, becoming involved with nConnect offers a meaningful way to contribute to the next generation of innovators.
